Crestmark employees went to the classroom to teach as part of the American Bankers Association’s 15th Annual Teach Children to Save program. Eight volunteers from the local Crestmark office presented savings lessons to over 250 students in classrooms throughout Oakland County, Michigan from May through June.

The bankers joined thousands of financial professionals from across the country as part of the national campaign. The goal of the campaign is to educate young people about the importance of developing lifelong savings habits through activities, interactive scenarios and discussing real-life experiences. Students and parents can also access additional educational resources at the Teach Children to Save website: www.teachchildrentosave.com.
“We really enjoy working with these kids,” said Sharmen McVay, Vice President, Crestmark. “And it’s rewarding to think that we can help give them some valuable lessons that will last a lifetime.”
Teach Children to Save Day is held every year to promote financial literacy through connecting bankers with young students.
